The safety of your child is one of our primary concerns. ALL transportation changes are to be made in writing. Please send a note with your child or fax ANY transportation changes to the school office at 728-1773 before 2:00 pm. Also, only individuals you list on the emergency card will be allowed to pick up your child. If you need to add/delete contacts on your child's emergency card you may come by the school to make those changes.

All visitors must stop by the office, sign-in, and get a visitor's pass when entering the building. Parents must contact the child's teacher before they are allowed to go down to the classrooms. This is to insure your child is getting as much instructional time as possible. We do value your parental involvement in the school and look forward to developing a positive working relationship with you.

In order for you to view your childs grades via the Internet, you must fill out the Active Parent Sign Up Sheet and bring it to the office for access. The website of the school is http://www.hillschapelschool.net or http://www.prentiss.k12.ms.us/HillsChapel/Index.htm.

Helpful Hints on Interpreting student grades on Active Parent:

  • NG - means no grade has been entered and it is averaging in a zero.
  • NM - is the default grade, no mark has been entered and is not counting against the student. This could mean the teacher has set up the assignment in the grade book and not yet entered grades or the student has not completed the assignment.
  • I - Incomplete and it is averaging in a zero until the student completes the assignment.
  • X - the student has been exempted from the assignment and it will not count against him/her.
  • XPE - Exempt Prior to enrollment, does not count against student.
